Can I request some help and advice please?
I returned from a charity event in Europe on Sat disembarking the Ferry around 1230 in Dover.
I received an NIP today alleging that I had been travelling at 112 MPH on the A2 Dover Rd near Wick Lane @ 1253. I don't recall travelling as fast as is being alleged and I did not pass a camera or see a mobile unit, The NIP does not state how they came by the alleged speed.

I will send back the S172 is there anything I should do before I send it back, any advice or guidance will be gratefully received.

Thanks
Don

The camera vans are often well hidden on that stretch so it's entirely possible you didn't see it. Have you asked for photos to help identify the driver? Should give you an idea of where you were caught and you'll be able to see if they got a clean reading (although they almost certainly did)
I guess I will be asking for some evidence when I am summoned to court, not having done this before I am clutching at straws.

Are you forced to complete and return the form? *Asking for a friend.
I am not aware of who was driving at the time in my car having covered 2,700 miles in the Charity event in Europe we had been changing drivers regularly.

I hope that answers your question

Yes, you should definitely complete and return the form within the timeframe specified.

What happens if you don't?
I guess you know the answer to that better than I do.
I have sent you an email agtlaw

You have 28 days to nominate the driver, so use the time to your advantage but make sure you don't miss the deadline.
You might want to seek some professional advice in case you don't subsequently get the option of a CoFP.

Mid you that was several years ago. I've never had the pleasure of a S172 from Kent Police.
Btw, if you get a tug and they decide not to use discretion a roadside FPN is no longer an option.
It's all TOR now and the paperwork is processed by a faceless apparatckik in a windowless room.
The arms length transaction means you have no way of knowing up front what your fate will be.
Many thanks Red Devil I will check out the info you have recommended.

You don't recall whether the person who drove the vehicle off the ferry was still driving just 20 minutes later ?
Hi SS2
This is a very open forum and it dosent always pay to air your dirty washing in public.

The responses have been remarkably restrained - lately it's like being on Brake's forum, with people calling for the perp to be strung up.

No one has even mentioned that his speedo must have been reading at least 150MPH.
You are all entitled to your own opinion it dosent mean that's it's correct!
What I don't understand is people who want to be on the forum just to have a go at somebody but they don't even register as who they are or what they do. We have all made mistakes in our life. I guess I shouldn't have been so gullible and asked for some advice. Live and learn.

Play it right and I'd still say he's driving himself home.
Probably worth a solicitor though, and the OP can afford it, a ban will inconvenience him more than the fine.
Thanks cmaguire that is my intention
