So my other half was driving my car when the traffic lights turned red, the car in front of her stopped, she stopped the numpty behind went into the back of her.
They both get out and check the damage, looked like there was none, she then took the drivers details (name, address & phone number) I don't think he bothered.
When she got home and told me I checked the car over and there was a split in the bumper it is a 2015 Touareg R line.

So I phone the guy the next day and it goes to answerphone! I left a message and text him asking for him to contact me to discuss and if I had not had a reply in three days I would contact my Insurance, well no contact was made so I duly informed my insurance.

A week later I get a ranting phone call saying someone has been leaving abusive messages and text's (I sent one of each) after a few minutes conversation with him I said sorry I'm not going to get into an argument and will leave it with my insurers.

Long storey short (maybe) I receive a letter from my insurers asking for me to check the address I had given them, because low and behold they cannot get hold of him!

It seems like he gave a false address but the correct phone number.furiousfurious

I have front and rear facing cameras, so it has all been recorded.

I have done a couple of checks over the weekend, askmid and dvla sites, at the time of him rear ending my other half the van had an MOT was insured but had NO Tax and still has no Tax.

I have already had the go ahead to get my car repaired but I want to make sure that I will recover my excess before I do.

I have left them a message and sent another text as before (not abusive as the troll would like to think and imply laugh) as the phone went straight to answer phone.

I was thinking of a trip to Southampton Police Station to see if they would be interested in the footage of a un-taxed vehicle being used and false address being given following a accident?

Why would I want to buy a second hand bumper (probaly be in a worse state than the one to be repaired) off of ebay and go through all the hassle of getting it painted and fitted?
I also dont see why I should put my hand in my pocket for someone elses mistake.confused

Thats why I have fully comp insurance with protected no claims to pay for stuff when someone cant see a big black car in front of them. driving

To be honest I just like the comments it all brings up on PH. coffee
