As above - went in to town centre - was dead..plenty of single yellows available to park but there was a disabled bay that provided a safer parking spot so I parked there. It was 8.30pm and no one was around. Checked the road signs which said parking restrictions from 9am-6am Monday to Saturday. It was Saturday!

Contested the ticket but they threw it out and said I should not have parked in the disabled bay at any time and that restrictions for the disabled bay are not necessary as it's 24/7 for the use of disabled people and that the restrictions were for the parking bays (which were mostly taken on the day but one or two were available) and not the disabled bay.

I simply parked there as it was a better and safer spot to park my car frown

Go easy biggrin

I did ask for it didn't I hehe

I genuinely parked in that bay as I thought it was timed. The parking sign right above where I parked seemed to substantiate this too. Anyway I have now paid the fine but I still think this is questionable.
