Car paint work
Discussion
Brand new civic type r in championship white, got it home got it clean noticed that unfortunately all the plastics (bumpers vent etc..) are a different colour to the rest of the car, told Honda took it to the dealer they agreed,
Cue a 2 month wait for the new bits to come in and they have now all been fitted and guess what still a really bad colour match.
Too me the bumpers are actually what colour championship white should be. The dealer is now telling me to take this up with Honda. The dealers demonstrator is also the same.
I don't want a car that's two different colours, I stopped at the fiat garage on the way home. They had a metallic white fiat 500 on the forecourt, it was brand new and cost 11k and the coulour between plastic and metal body panels match was perfect, my car was 30k.
Any advise to what I should do please?

Not quite as bad as that! Made me laugh though!! This is what I thought it's the dealers problem, going to pick it up on Monday was supposed to be finished this afternoon but it's not, spoke to the service manager and he tells me it's know better. I will get some pics up later. Really gutted as I love the car, never had a new car and just want everything to be perfect. I am fussy yes but if you had a bit of touch up work done on a car and it came out like mine knowone would be happy.
Thanks for the advice will report back Monday.
So turns out the dealership was correct,
Awaiting a call back from someone at Honda Swindon to discuss the rejection process or maybe look into getting the paintwork matched by a paint shop.
I will not be accepting the line "they are all like that" Honda have admitted a fault by changing half the cars bodywork in the first place.
Again will do my best to update the thread when I hear back from them.

Swop it for a red one ( the red ones are much faster anyway - plus the paint matches better
Well that's until it's 6 years old it when it will be more of a pink colour like my Integra tyre R went at 6 yrs old!).
Already have a milano red one! Not a FK2 but my beloved 2002 EP3 which only comes out in the sunshine now, It has unfortunately gone a bit pink but comes up well after a polish. Just realised I have owned it for 11 years this month only covered about 30k miles from new!Well that's until it's 6 years old it when it will be more of a pink colour like my Integra tyre R went at 6 yrs old!).
I hope the above works, it looks a lot worse than this in real life hard to get a good pic with our 10 year old works camera.
As you can see the front bumper and wing vent are cream and the rest of the car is white. Only the front bumper and half of the wheel arch is clean, When the whole car is washed you can image what it looks like.

The bumper looks more like Championship White to me, there's a reason it's called Championship Cream.
Exactly what I said to the guys at the dealership who kind of looked at me blankly. The plastics are the correct colour its the rest of the car that's wrong. Looking at the pic its really not doing justice to how bad it is, I will try to get some good pics at the weekend with the car clean and my brothers camera.funkyrobot said:
I know we have been over this a multitude of times, but if it were me I would be camping at the dealers until they sorted it. If I could get the time off work (or if it was at a weekend), I'd park my car right at the front with a big sign stating what has happened. I'd also be telling everyone who came near what had happened.
It seems that Honda UK aren't getting their finger out and the dealer isn't interested either. The longer you leave it, the more difficult it is to reject.
I think they think you will simply get tired and just disappear.
Have you tried the social media route? Sometimes it helps get arses into gear.
I am on shift until Tuesday night then have my week off so it will be going back Wednesday. It seems that Honda UK aren't getting their finger out and the dealer isn't interested either. The longer you leave it, the more difficult it is to reject.

As I have said before will get an independent inspection carried out myself first have all the rejection letter drafted just need to fill in some dates.
I cant see the rejection being a problem, I have had the car since July and reported the paintwork issue to them after a couple of weeks, it took until last week for all the parts to arrive. This was there one chance to fix the car and they have not been able to, so under the sales of goods act I am well within my rights to reject whilst its still less than six months old.
I truly am gutted, I have always wanted to own a brand new car and saved hard to do so.
