In the link above you can see the crossing is on the edge of the road before you enter the roundabout. I thought you were not allowed to stop on or block a crossing but in order to get on the roundabout you don't have much choice.

That looks like an utterly moronic place to put a pedestrian crossing.
The crossings were further back but as people are lazy they wont walk up the road cross and walk back down they just cross over at the junction. To solve this the council moved all of the crossings up to the edge of the roundabout.

Sightlines look just fine from behind the crossing. No reason to pull forward and block it if the r'a'b isn't clear to pull onto.
That's the problem the traffic mostly comes from the other directions as its the main through route. Many people cross who are using the shops, when they cross the traffic leaving the roundabout stops and the whole thing just gets backed up.
You have to be on the edge to pull out if there is a gap or be on the edge hoping that someone will let you out when its gridlocked.

shouldn't be a problem for goatee wearing company director PHers. Rev it to 4k and dump the clutch. biggrin
If only!!!!!!

Most of the peasants/commoners don't have goatee's and as a result stop on the crossing. So whats the punishment for stopping on this crossing?

Its the same in the village there is a crossing smack bang outside of the newsagents. People step out of the shop and continue across the road, you have very little time to stop or find yourself slamming on the brakes and everyone looks at you like your a hooligan.
