It really is a curiosity of the sentencing system that two people can do similar things (with different consequences) and be punished differently.

This case: Biker going quickly but no accident or injury. - 14 months custodial for dangerous driving.
Prostitute road rage whilst on a suspended sentence for blackmail: Rams a biker, deliberately, causing injury. - 12 months suspended.

Biker obviously a silly, silly boy and deserves what he got for perverting the course of justice and the knife, but how can it be justified that riding at speed (admittedly extremely excessive) and not causing an accident, is worse than deliberately ramming someone?

EDIT: I suppose I should clarify. I think the woman should have has a custodial sentence too. Not just for the driving, but breaching a suspended sentence.

They are both examples of dangerous driving. One was considered more worthy of a custodial sentence than the other.

A collision or injury doesn't have to occur to make the driving dangerous. Wen you think about the word danger it means that there is a potential for something bad to happen. When something bad does occur the danger is over, hence dangerous driving can be charged when no damage or injury has occurred.

So you think that a biker going fast with no injuries is worse than using a vehicle as a deadly weapon?
Where did you get that, the Ladybird book of logic?
Don't talk bollix.
