Van next to me triggered camera, I got a ticket

I expect a lot of people to say they don't believe this, but I don't really either, so that's fine.

On the A1, two lanes, 70mph bit. I passed a van in the outside lane, barely going faster than it. A bit further up the road there was a speed camera, I dropped from maybe 75 to 70. The van I'd just passed, which for some reason sped up, sailed up the inside of me at about 80mph, we were on the markings at the same time.

Three days later, I have a NIP for 80 in a 70. I've been through the camera a hundred times, there's no way I'd be so stupid. It's been there forever.

Whole thing seems ridiculous but there's no way they'll believe me is there?

Fixed camera. It was a van that set it off.

I'll try writing in, thanks. It was OH car, but I'm not pretending not to know who was driving.

To save aggro I'll end up taking the fine and doing SAC. Thinking about it, I really can't be arsed going to court.

I got a link from GMP with access to pics of my alleged infraction in the first letter.

Hopefully they'll send something once the NIP has been sent back then. It's Lincolnshire, guessing they all have different procedures.

Which camera was it out of interest? The only fixed non-average cam I can think of is the one after the A52 northbound a mile before the services.

Northbound, Great Ponton
