76 in a 30?

A friend of mine got caught by a scam van on the A500 (Usually a 50/70 limit depending on where you are). Due to roadworks its now a 30 and she got clocked by a van on a bridge at 76. She has been told she will get 3 points and a 60 quid fine. Am i right in telling her she is probably going to be off the road for a few months?

from what she said it was where i usually see it parked, on the bridge at the junction of A500/A50/Campbell Road Michelin, just as it goes from 70 to 50 to 30
