Ok heres the scenario.....

Driving home along country lane, spot a car backed into a field entrance facing out towards the road at 90 degrees. As I approach said vehicle I see the driver put his arm out the drivers window holding what looks like a 9mm auto pistol, cue anxiety.:shoot:
As I pass the car said person raises gun and shoots at the car. I hear the gun go off and also hear the impact of the projectile on the passenger door, cue sudden braking, followed by reversing up to block said eeeeejits car in.
Now, I know I have no gaping wound leaking claret so I assume the weapon was a BB gun. I am also what you could describe as a Large chap, 6' 6'' and 19st who is also now, very unhappy.:rage:
I confront the sniper and demand said weapon be handed over, resisting the temptation to drag him through his window and rearrange his face as I know it would be me that ends up in Court. Said sniper is, wait for it, at least 65 years old !!!!!!!!!

Anyhow, he is suitably 'advised' and reported to plod within 5 minutes, didnt have my phone with me <sigh>
Plod takes statement and promises suitable action.
2 weeks later and,..................Nothing.:(

Firearms being high profile, real or replica I would have expected a phonecall at least or do I expect too much from an organisation more interested in scamera revenues..........:banghead:

Answers on a Postcard please :soapbox:

Spoken to local village and it appears the officer who dealt with this job 'cuffed' it, but apparently this has been spotted by supervision and now re-opened for appropriate action
more to follow...............

Old Rambo merely mumbled some unintelligible words I'm afraid. I suspect that my vast bulk obliterating all light through his window caused momentary loss of speech.......................although................ I did hear a faint 'parp' from his trouser area...

As yet,........... still no response from

Ok then chaps....................
IF I had decided to administer my own justice then I consider firstly, I would be sinking to a baser level than I would prefer, although, I do agree that where necessary, a swift slap teaches most wrong-doers the error of their ways quickly. However, the bloke was in his mid 60's at least and I doubt that, whatever the circumstances, BiB would not have taken too kindly to me having left any mark whatsoever on his person.
I would then run the risk of ending up in front of the Beak. This does happen when one takes things into ones own hands.(Even protecting ones own property sometimes)
Secondly, as a law abiding, tax paying citizen, am I wrong to expect the BiB to deal with this professionally by going to see Codger and 'advising' him, as well as removing the BB gun from his posession in order to prevent him firing it at someone more vulnerable ?
Note to Julian64 : How would you feel if your wife had been driving home with little Johnny in the passenger seat, sunny day, window down ??? Get the Point ?
The fact remains, the Law says you cannot do this.
No, I am not moaning about what happened to me, I have had real guns pointed at me before.
The points being made are people shooting guns at cars should be dealt with, and BiB should be seen to be doing the job we pay them to do.
in fact (for those that miss the point)
