Brakes -maintenance and the law

I ordered a couple of brake cylinder rebuild kits from my local factors and was told that these would be illegal at the end of this year. I also requested a couple of tubes of brake - Girling Grease and was told they weren't stocked 'cos they would soon be illegal.

Normally I'd have said 'B0ll0x' but you can't be too sure with this crazy govt. I've looked everywhere for statute on this and can't find anything. Can anyone shed some light on this ?.

Thanks DVD - I dind't think of that.

Most of the control freak stuff comes from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister ( such as the prohibition on anyone except for a couple of private companies authorising domestic electrical installation )
