Bits falling off on motorways

Not impressed at the mo - my hubby was driving our 6 week old Tusc today when one of the cans fell off.
As he was on the motorway, he came off at the next opportunity.

This will presumably have been removed from the carriageway - are bits like this kept and if so, how do we find out where so that we can go and get it?

Ok, so am I better to keep quiet?
Warranty should cover it as it shouldn't have fallen off.

The car is brand new and I'm pretty pee'd off that it wasn't put on properly in the first place.
Best part of £50K and they can't even do the screws up properly.

Well we have, but nothing ever fell off it on the motorway!
