French Speed Camera

I apologise if there is a post on this subject already but does anyone have any experience of what happens if you get bagged by an automatic French Speed Camera?
I was there this weekend and got flashed by one, fortunately while not using the buggy's true performance (120ish kliks in a 90 limit). Do they send anything to you in the post? Give up? Can they chase you (bureaucratically rather than physically obviously) through the EU? If I do have to pay it will it be pricey?

Thanks for all your replies. Will just have to hope that nothing pops through the letter box then.
At least I can smile at the fact that they didn't ding me 24 hours earlier with the speedo slightly north of 155
