Opened this weeks MCN and inside was a leaflet about safety cameras only this one was a little different to the usual "Motorists are criminal scum" approach.

It is entitled 'Don't crunch after lunch' and is a fold-out colour pamphlet aimed at reducing accidents and not bank balances.

It contains a map of the Cumbria A roads with symbols of where fatal and serious accidents have taken place during 2003. It has a graph showing the most common time of day for accidents and a list of major factors in motorcycle accidents. On the back is a 'Motorcycle Safety Checklist' and advice about the area and dangers to look out for there.

All in all a well presented and refreshing change to what you'd expect from a 'safety partnership' and definitely a step in the right direction!

I bet Brunstrom hasn't seen it yet

Don't think so. Mainly the updated 999, new R1 and loads on the forthcoming British Super Bikes
