Been looking for a C7 Stingray One kept catching my eye but I was frightened off as it was an Import it was a 2014
Velocity Yellow Z51 performance Package with Red 3LT Trim advertised as "Its got the Lot" in Huddersfield with just 336 miles on the Clock ...It has every Immortal Option Costing Thousands of Dollars... but its an Import ....I spoke to the Guy to express my concerns....Thinking I'd be ruling it out! and moving on to American Dreams........"Fear Not" its been fully converted ....The Lighting ...The indicators orange LED's inside the Headlamps LED repeaters discreetly hidden in the mesh on the front wings and Orange LED'S in Clear oblongs in the rear lens. Fog Lamp wired thru an illuminated switch in the Cab [The High Level Brake light becomes the Fog Lamp]
Not only that the Sat Nav is UK The Radio is UK and even the Aerial has been change to UK [The Guy who did the work obviously kept the originals ....he will send them back to GM for exchange / upgrade ready for his next conversion its a Top job ...No aftermarket 'Ring' fog lights like I fitted to my C6 Z06's between the exhaust bells you cannot see any thing different or out of place.
I mentioned a Euro car I was contemplating and the lack of Warranty on this one he gave me a Warranty Wise [Of 'Quentin Wilson' Fame ...there are about 6 plans he gave me the Best one ....Top Man]
I got a text from Peter at American Dreams to remind me to CarFax it as an Import whilst I was in his Office..... I HPi'd and CarFaxed the car myself whilst sitting at his Computer....and went on to put 12 months Insurance on her...
He really was a Nice Bloke, Everything was done including he Taxed her for 12 months £235 How Lucky am I?
Needless to say it is absolutely Mint... Fully Spec'd ..... Monies changed hands and I picked her up Saturday!
quick search on the DVLA Reg site for an Interesting plate and Found C7 KCN [reads C7 KEN with a Sacrificial Black stud in the middle of the C and that has become my username here and on CCCUK ] Ready to Roll!

Insurance wise I was with Aidrian Flux and rang from the Dealers to put Cover on the car to Drive home....after a long while trying to locate the car on their system the young Lady had to refer it to a Manager and came back to say the quotes are coming in over £900 ....OK then cancel it.... I went to GoCompare and accepted a quote of £452...That was cancelled on Monday as it had come up on their system as a Camaro they could not find the Import Corvette C7 Stingray.
I tried Lancaster who also couldn't find the car but after some while he came back to say he'd found it but it was coming in the thousands.....he'd put it out to a panel of Insurers
back on to Confused.com this time .... who's system offered a Box to select Import from US ...selected 'Go' and among many LV= Offered Fully Comp at £431 .....That's more like it Sold
it appears Aidrian Flux and Lancaster have not got the Import on their systems as yet for the Import at Competitive prices at least? Their Systems do recognise the Stratstone Euro cars ..... Success with LV= Thru Confused .com

Yup .....That's the right money ...I paid a little more as it only had 365 miles on her having been SORN by the Owner who couldn't get away with LHD or the Power [Once you get used to LHD you can thread thru traffic Briskly and the Handling of this variant is as "If on Rails".... is she an Auto or 7 Speed Manual [The early Autos where the 6 Speed and the latter ones the 8 Speed] I thinks that's personal preference and wouldn't effect the value ...mines 7 Speed Manual as it happens
Whichever you choose you'll be delighted with it.....Mines an Import which means the Tax is a little cheaper ...but the Ins was a little more expensive....try Confused.com for the Import as they offer the Option of US Import and Compare the Market don't offer the option of Import and neither did the Main Players Aidrian Flux ...they can find the Euro car but not yet the Imports.
I really recommend them ...it's a 466 BHP Supercar ... less than 4 seconds 0 - 60 Stunning Looks and you can run her without the expense of say a Ferrari ..Highly Strung ... that'll shake itself to bits and Services are Mega Expensive ...Once you own one of these you have a Fast, well handling car that offers Good MPG ... Right foot Dependant [I drive Briskly but not foot to the floor everywhere lol]
Best of Luck if you go for it and look forward to some Pics

Ha ....! As Nike says "Just do it"! I think I may have spotted your potential car in a Stunning Blue ... is that the one?
As I said you have an Outrageous looking Supercar ... a real Headturner with Folk admiring and getting pic's on their phones ... once you own it they really are very reasonable to run and a real pleasure to own and Drive!

I must admit I don't feel the need to use it that often..... round town it's 3rd (Sounds Great in Town Centres, I leave it in 'Sport' Mode !) 4th or 5th
and for getting between Towns I'll use 6th and 7th on the link Roads .... 7th is there ...and I found it's just Natural to change up

Hi Paul I Googled Carfax and did that from the Dealership paying online by Card (I did HPi the car aswell)
It's Peace of mind as you know!
For Ins Confused.com has a drop down for the C7 to select 'USA Import' (Compare the Market
Doesn't )
From the 80 odd quotes I chose LV= The usual players Aidrian Flux recognise the Euro Cars but
Not the Imports ....when I got mine at least
Your obviously getting tempted Paul!
Good Luck if you do keep us posted

That's a fair price Rich for a Brand New Camaro V8'...... mine Came in at £431 as an Import.... thru Aidrian Flux or Lancaster it would have been a grand and well over as there Systems did not recognise an Import C7 just the Euro version
So I'm Grateful for LV= Lol

Hi Paul Absoloutly Delighted you 'Went for it' What a car the C7 is I was joking I've gone from Analogue to Digital ....Roll on Spring!
Did you get that Blue one? Ship my Car did the Lighting and IVA on mine the SatNav Radio and Aerial
Where done by the Dealer EMA Motor Company Huddersfield or should I say by an Expert they bought in apparently he will travel but wants putting up in a Hotel [He will take your SatNav unit and Aerial away when he's finished putting the UK one in he will send yours back to GM in the states for exch/Conv ready for his next one ]
Ask for Sam mention 'Ken who purchased the Velocity Yellow one' and could you help .... get in you understand you'll need to meet his expenses and he'll take your SatNav away on completion
I'm really pleased for you Paul and yes Pictures please ASAP!
Are you on CCCUK Paul?
(Cheers Dave sorry I missed that post)

The Z06 .... " 7 Litres of American Friendly Fire" [Clarkson Quote lol] Great cars ... so Good I had two of them ... They are Tyre Shredding Monsters! With Huge Road Presence fantastic performance and handling ... when filling it with fuel I'd Steal an Admiring Glance at it ....low and very wide with its wide arched body.
Like anything Tho Technology moves on and the C7 has moved on with 'Magnetic Adaptive Ride' on the Z51.
Switchable Multi Mode from 'Weather' Snow perhaps ... wet and slippery) 'Eco' Fuel Economy ...... 'Touring' everyday Driving ... Not For me lol ! ... 'Sport' Enthusiastic Brisk Driving ... Yes! and 'Track' stiffens the Magnetic Suspension further and the Steering too. The Digital Instruments have a Huge range of adjustment to tell you just about everything you could wish to know and More .... 'Launch Control' for Super fast Starts sub 4 seconds. Superb Styling ... I love the Exterior Styling ...
the Interior is a Huge Improvement.... Seating, Instrumentation Systems can you tell I like it lol
However when I purchased it I was trying for a C6 ZR1 if it hadn't Sold that would've been sat in the Garage.
Different cars .... both Brilliant

HaHa Macky ... I do remember now ... I had glanced at the profile pic of a Red Noble ....funnily enough whilst looking for my next car there was a Red M400 for a sale somewhere around 69k with only 6 thousand miles ....Very Nice indeed!
Well to answer your Question noise wise like the Z06 they are Damped down to Saloon car levels as is the C7 ...but put her in Sport or particularly in Track and she Growls ...the C6's you really need Borlas or similar I won't be going for that on my C7 as I can Mode Select Sport .... Theatre wise I think the Z has it ..... So a C7 Grand Sport has everything or C7 Z06 would leave it behind in all aspects ...However they are beyond my Budget Sadly. For me on my Budget the Stingray really is a better car all round it looks Outrageous ... is a Better Driving Experience....the number of Folk who have followed me or pulled up alongside to to get Pictures tells its own Story
Handling goes to the C7 with Improved Suspension set up and aided by Magnetic Adaptive Ride it handles as if on the proverbial Rails!

Don't Blame you Paul .... your Right an 'Arm and a Leg' ...Sam at EMA was really put out when the Tech took the Sat Nav and Aerial after putting him in a Hotel and with the Huge Cost..... he thought he'd end up with them to Sell to offset the Cost lol !
CCCUK is worth a look [The Classis Corvette Club] there is a C7 forum where you'll find useful chat and folk talking about Imports and SatNav's and all the questions that you may have .....
I have had more admiration for it than any car I've owned Paul, they are a Stunning looking Car as you say so much more to play with than the C6 and getting her out for a run is pure pleasure! Enjoy
Some pics Paul?

Thanks ThreeSpires ... a Hovercraft indeed ... I had two Europas they could 'Pee' past just about anything on the Road in there Day ! I was looking at them again recently as a Project for my Retirement
Here the C7 means I can run a Supercar ... a car once you own is pretty reasonable to run ..... a pleasure to Drive ....
Looks Outrageous ... ticks all my. Boxes lol
