This is my first post on Piston Heads . We have just got hold of a bare chassis and box's of bits ,to which I am putting back together . My Problem ...... Where does the handbrake go ? We have a handbrake lever which looks like the correct one from the Caterham parts list . and I believe the early ones were under the dash but there are no holes for it to go in . The car was used for hill climbs and once belonged to Lawrence Hoy ,If anyone knows the car, please contact me .

Hi Mick . Do you know this car? I'm no idiot but I cant see where any fittings have been on the chassis and no hole on the top or side of the tunnel . We have just a gear lever shroud . We have a handbrake lever ,which is the early version but no where for it to go . And as yet I haven't seen any illustration of early fittings .
Regards Martin

Thanks Guys ... How bizarre .I have seen some funny places for handbrakes over the years ,but I have never seen one there .I'll have a look for a Pre 96 Build Manual . But could you tell me where the cables are run .I know where they end in the tunnel but its the single cable that s got me . I have seen a large hole on Transmission tunnel on the upper passenger side which I suspect the cable goes through . Thanks for that Picture ,I think without that I wouldn't have believed it
