It looks like you saw more rain than we did on our return - there was a big storm we just missed near to Chepstow, but other than that it was a dry run on the way back.

Steve
Indeed Steve!

We got caught in hail storms, torrential rain and snow, and several versions at different areas too!

We still did not stop, or out the roof on either!

Still a good day out though!

We stopped at Brecon for 30 mins and I think that meant we missed the rain. Surprising how a small change in times can make a big difference to the weather you run into!

Better than last year when we ran into hailstorm after hailstorm - had to put the roof on in the end as it was hurting too much. Didn't see another hailstorm after that though....

We had a great run back to Stamford yesterday - it was quite sunny despite the forecast.

Steve
Steve,

Yep we got caught in that hailstorm on the way home, somewhere around Kidderminster as I recall.

As you said it hurt like hell on the forehead, sadly we never got around to putting the roof up, so just put up wit the cold and pain!

We only got caught a few times in the way home this time, mostly short sharp hail storms, when coming around the roundabouts just in the Shrewsbury area.

We then decided to get home as quickly as possible and took the m54 to the m6 and onto the m5 and home.

I think it was the m5 that caused the most mess on the car, as it was covered in standing water, I presume from a storm we had just missed, thankfully it was not actually raining when we drive along it.

Car is clean and tidy again now, it might even stay clean enough for the next outing to stoneleigh at the weekend!

Cheers

Maybe I'll see you at Stoneleigh then. I will probably be there on the Monday ( depending on the weather).

Steve
Hi Steve,

Sorry forgot to respond.

I think I will most likely be at Stoneleigh on Sunday, I have promised to take Tom out for a run and to see the cars, I think we have other family bank holiday commitments on Monday.

I hope this glorious weather holds for the whole of the bank holiday weekend too!

Have fun?

Nige.

Nigel,

could you put a few photos of your headlight mounts up..
and tell us where you got them from..

cheers
Hi Chris,

Yes of course, but which car?

My previous White R500, or my current Green, Yellow and White R500?

They are both similar cars, but have different light mount configs.

The later car, my current car, ie the green yellow and white car has the now standard lowered caterham headlight mounts.

The previous R500, I owned, ie the white car had the higher mounts,,again standard for a 2008 caterham supplied car.

I hope that helps.

Here is the link to the new lower brackets that are on the Caterham website.

I do think that all the newer cars like mine,,look much better with the lower brackets and smaller headlights too.

I hope that helps you.
