22years old 1st caterham
Discussion
Thinking about getting something fun as a second car.. I've owned a 2010 ibiza cupra for the last 2 years and will continue to use this as a DD. In the meantime ive had a mk1 1.8 mx5 and a mk1 mr2 as 'fun' summer cars but im thinking that a caterham may be a better investment and more of a long term weekend/summer car that i can keep and cherish.
does anyone have any suggestions on what to buy? seems to be loads of different cars within my budget of £8-15k. I know that a live axle isn't ideal and really i would like something with a little bit of power although really fun and trackdays is my main objective with this.
any help or info is appreciated

Well, I did it.
Bought a 1.4k series 'limited edition roadsport' from the guys at Sevens & Classics. Callum, Tim & Andy were great and I can't recommend them enough.
The car, well... It's absolutely great! It came with the supersport kit so 128bhp and 100 lb-ft I believe.. Twincam is addictive (reminds me of the old mr2 or my mates type R) it has the 6 speed box and LSD and although it originally wore R888s I asked the guys to put some academy tyres on so I can exploit the chassis a little bit.
We were lucky enough to have some fantastic weather over the weekend so I explored the local lanes a little bit and it really is a go cart! Flat through corners and you just turn the wheel and it changes direction.. With the close ratio gearbox the 1.4 is more than enough power for now and I'm looking forward to getting to one of the l7club meets soon
