After a few weeks of research and deliberation I put a deposit down on my first Caterham today. A 2004 Tracksport 30th Anniversary special. One of only 2 I understand?
Callum at Sevens and Classics sent me over some pictures before it was advertised and just had to go and see it. I was pretty much sold when I saw it in the flesh and it drove beautifully.
Great buying experience from these guys and Callum showed a lot more enthusiasm and interest in me than Caterham dare I say it!
Very much looking forward to picking it up in a week or so and getting to a few local meets!
Ben.

I had a change of heart in the end, feeling the Tracksport might be a little too extreme for my predominantly road use and went for this Roadsport instead which I picked up on Saturday.
1.8 Supersport engine
6-speed
Lotus Azure blue
12,000 miles
First impressions are it's fantastic, although a busy week at work has meant I've only really driven it the 30 miles home from Brands Hatch. Seems to have plenty of power for now, makes a great noise and the fairly small tyres allow for lots of safe fun!
Roll on Saturday morning and some sunshine!

I was looking closely at the tyres today and I think the fronts could be original! It's only done 12,000 miles so entirely possible I suppose. The rears are ZV3's I think and appear to be fairly new. I'll investigate as the year of manufacture should be on the tyre somewhere I think.
The gearing is crazy low, especially compared to my 330d but it makes a nice contrast and does keep the engine nicely on the boil!
Had a great cross-country trip to Sainsbury's today with my 4 year old squealing with excitement in the passenger seat.

Thanks guys!
I haven't had tyres that size since my Clio 16v 15 years ago! Just checked my fronts and they are original so I can't wait to try the handling with some good tyres.
I've done a few searches but what are the current suggestions for 185 60 14's? Mostly road use so not after ultimate grip, just a good all-rounder.
Thanks,
Ben.
