Having just bought a K series 125 bhp roadsport, I got to wondering if there was any reason why the 160 bhp engine from a mg zr 160 couldn't be used to replace the existing engine? Sounds too simple which means I'm sure there will be an issue!!

The project starts! Bought an MGZR 160 for £250, have liberated the cylinder head which has gone off to be checked out, the plan is to fit it to my 1.8 K, along with loom ecu and immobiliser from the donor. Hopefully will have a 160 hp motor for a few hundred quid (and a spare bottom end to boot with the stronger pistons for future upgrades).
