Hi, I have recently bought a Supersport race car and have been trying to get the driving position right for me. It has a Tillett seat and I can't seem to move it far enough back. I'm 5ft 10 and only need it to go back one more notch to be perfect but something is stopping it. There is a good size gap behind the seat (two inches maybe) and it doesn't seem to be obstructed by anything but it wont go any further. I'm guessing the runners are stoppping it? Anyone know if this is the case and if so can I get around it?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Took the seat out, cleaned and greased the runners but no better. On closer inspection it looks like the eyelets that attach the lap harness to the chassis were obstructing the seat. They have a small angle change at the end and they were both leaning in towards the seat. Took them off, re-threaded the belts and reattached so they now lean away from the seat. This gave me some extra clearance about 5-10mm either side and it's much better now. It's still not right back so I think I will try the suggestion of fitting it with the runners all the way back to see if the position is better.

Thanks for the help all.

My belts are bolted flush against the car sides.
It now goes all the way back, thanks to you. The tunnel side bolt was in the way of the seat as it is shimmed out 10mm. Removed the shim and now the position is perfect.

Many thanks

This was the same for me but when I took the seat out there is a bolt hole on the tunnel side about 3 inches further back. Bolting the harness in there allowed it to be tightened more and fits me fine now.
