Hello all, just checked cam timing - 1.6 K series with SS spec:
Found inlet with 0.60mm lift and exhaust with 1.65mm lift at TDC. So I reckon the inlet and exhaust timing is retarded approx 10deg and 4deg respectively. I'd say my measurements were accurate to within 50microns. I've seen that the correct spec is 1.52 and 1.25mm lift respectively for inlet and exhaust at TDC.
Is this a significant timing error - enough to merit a change to vernier pullies?
(Feel free to call me an anorak!) Thanks

Thanks for that Dave. Just on fitting new pullies, there aren't any flats on the cams to lock them - just a raised bridge on one side which doesn't look suitable. Do I use the old belt in place, or a cam locking tool between the pullies to allow undoing of the bolts? The aluminium locking tool fit is sloppy (I could pack it out with tape) but worried about damaging the pully grooves. I see the pully bolt is torqued to 28lbft.
