Spotted a 7 I really like at Caterham South. I know it wont be around for long but need to get rid of my current 7. Does Caterham take cars for silly money as compared to a private sale?

Popped over this morning to Caterham South to buy the car, but someone else had already booked an appointment so he was seen first. He put down a deposit so missed out.

No I will keep it now and enjoy it. Will try not to be tempted and stick to the original plan of buying a new car in kit form next year.

I was looking at the yellow with orange dbl d caged ex academy car that was for sale at caterham south but decided I couldn't afford 16k.
Then it sold !
Then yours came up that looks ten times better and just affordable .
Must be a act of the gods telling me to save up some more .
Out of interest how easy is yours to drive with its engine modifications ? No different to a regular roadsport or supersport ?
It's actually quite stressful buying a Caterham. I was looking for over a year until I was able to secure a car I liked before someone else got it first!

My car is great to drive. Engine is far more eager than a 125 roadport which I found lacking in bite.

Offer me above the asking price and I might be persuaded to sell to you!!

I think luck has a lot to do with it.

When I decided to buy, there just happened to be a car on sale with my ideal spec, for the right price. I had the car less than a fortnight later!
R300 BAD has slipped away from me twice now. Around 2 years ago it was for sale at Caterham South when I popped in for a browse. As soon as I saw it I wanted to buy but a deposit had already been taken. This time around I was not able to secure it quick enough either!!

I'm sure the new owner will be around here soon enough. His yellow Elise R is currently on sale in the classifieds. Seemed a nice chap.

Have to ask, what's so special about R300 BAD? Is it:
- Non-standard colour?
- Non-standard carbon bits?
- Non-standard dry sump?
- Caterham aftersales?!

R300s whilst not uber common, when they do come up for sale privately they often dip under £20k. Just trying to get my head around why £23k is good value.
I just liked the whole package. My fav colour with all the bits I want in a Caterham. I agree its not the cheapest R300.

Is this for an R300k? If so, I just don't think they are worth the price jump from an SL. Now DR300s are a totally different proposition...
Clearly someone does think its worth the money and looks like a good overall package
Apart from the guy who paid the deposit and I, there was also another person wanting to speak to a salesman about it!

Slightly late to the party on this one, but CC offered me £13.5k for my car. I refused their kind offer and sold it privately within 3 days of advertising it for £19.5k. So I would have to say yes to the OP's question smile
Wow, that's a big difference! I spoke to Callum the other day and he told me that he could most probably take a r300 spec car, spray it purple for less than what caterham were selling the car for. it's good to talk to various people as it does really open your eyes to the options available.

Looks a nice car. Can I suggest you change the main picture to the one in London at night. It's a far better selling picture!
You think?? I love the main picture more.

Anyway, I already have an offer on the car but just need to wait until tomorrow to speak to Caterham to finalise my purchase. If that all goes to plan then my buyer will send over a deposit.

Quite easy, this Caterham selling malarkey. They pretty much sell themselves, even when its raining!!
