sounds interesting with the mechanical gauge. Though Ive no knowledge of what is needed so assistance much appreciated. do you attach it to the same place as the other one and then cable it to the new gauge or??

I'd agree, go mechanical gauge, you'll pay around £90 all in if you don't go for a warning light and use the Mocal OPG 100 PSI gauge.

You can use a braided line or plastic protected with washer bottle pipe - I've used both to equal effect.

The job is pretty straight forward and will give you reliable and consistent pressure readings.

If you need any more assistance feel free to drop me a line.

Great info thank you. and yes know the difference since i now got a brand new sensor w. m12 that really can't be fitted to my m10 housing :-) well, we all learn

The hose is connected via a (this is from memory so could be wrong!?)12x1.5mm - 1/8BSP adaptor to the oil filter housing in place of the old sender unit.

You then simply track the hose through the engine bay (inlet side), through the main loom grommet (a little challenging) above the gearbox and up to the back of the dash. Attach the hose to the gauge (not forgetting the fibre washer) and Bob's your uncle.

A point to note - the thread in the filter housing can be either 10x1.5mm or 12x1.5mm depending on year, I've done a 2004 and a 2003 car and both have been 12x1.5mm.
