Indeed
Do not question the ability of the driver but the car is definitively faster than the others?
Which Caterham is that?
The top three cars are in class H which run similar power, the same driver holds the lap record in the R300 British championships the weekend before in a hire car.Do not question the ability of the driver but the car is definitively faster than the others?

Mag sevens is a mixed grid, I wasn't comparing cars I was showing a new lap record in a Caterham on road tyres, the car is a road legal 1997 superlight with a n/a 2.4 Duratec built by Paul Gardner Race engines, running on Kumho V70 K61 tyres.

Yes great video. Danny was using a new valving set up I worked on the week before for his Nitrons. I just worked hard on the fronts to get some digressive characteristics into the damper.
He was running significantly softer springs than most of the other cars. No testing just set up off my Damper Dyno and I think Craig made 1 click adjustment at both ends on the day.
Very please even if I say so myself. When a very good driver who has been setting the pace all year rings and tells you he has never driven a car like it in terms of handling you can not help but feel chuffed.
Apparently even comments from others watching could not believe how the car turned.
There is another video that perhaps Craig can link to showing head on toward Knickerbrook where you can see that Danny's car does not dive any where near as much as the others on 100lb heavier springs!
Danny said the car handled awesome and changed direction better than it ever did before, and with no testing just shows how good it was to run that time, anything in the 1:44 around Oulton is fast even if your on slicks,,He was running significantly softer springs than most of the other cars. No testing just set up off my Damper Dyno and I think Craig made 1 click adjustment at both ends on the day.

Thanks Simon.

Ignoring the Balistic engine, that is mighty good under brakes and into corners! What's the spring damper set up and where can I get it?! Would the handling results be similar running ZZRs?
Yes, definitely the ZZRs have more grip earlier on than the Kumhos they just go off a bit sooner, The Mag seven races are 40 mins and most people prefer Kumho for that reason.Gassing Station | Caterham | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
