I need to replace the washers either side of the A frame bushings (Imperial chassis w/o Watts linkage), as they have failed and I now get a clunk when cornering. Can anyone with experience in this area I.e. the A frame where it joins the de Dion advise me, please:

1) Is it as straight forward as remove a securing nut and driving out the bolt and then rebuilding with new washers?

2) What is torque setting for the secure nut and bolt?

3) Any pit falls to be aware of?

Thank you.

All done and took about 10 minutes.

1) Jack the rear of the car and support on axle stands to remove the load from the wheels and in turn the A frame
2) Using two thin wall 19mm sockets remove the nut and bolt.
3) Pick up the pieces of the old washers and dispose.
4) Fit the new nylon washers in my case I used two per side to hopefully reduce friction.
5) Start to tighten the nut and bolt.
6) Lower the rear back onto the ground and torque the nut and bolt to 81nm.

Replacement washers purchased off eBay: 1mm thick ID: 17mm x OD: 30mm from rico-plastics
