420r rear wings respray

Hi folks, I'd like your opinion on this.
My guy who does spraying say that it would be more cost affective to buy new wings at £185 each and spray them than do mine up.
He says the problem is the fibreglass is so thin that the 'stars' that have been created from stones chipping from underneath means that they will have to be drilled out and re fibre glassed.
There's 13 of them, plus the small cracks that have been made when the wing protectors were pop riveted on by the factory.
Would you think that this is a fare comment and has anyone had there's resprayed?
