anybody have access to vx technical bulletins?
Discussion
Hi guys, wondering if any of you can help? Mrs cb has a astra j 1.7 cdti that makes this really tedious engine noise that is only getting worse, I've had a look on some of the other forums and the best description I can find is it sounds like the car has indegestion.
Now the general consensus is its a fuel filter issue which Vx know about and have released a TIS (Vauxhall technical bulletin) I need to find it and see whether it applies to this vehicle because my local dealer aren't really being a lot of use on resolving the issue.
Cheers guys

Hi, Thanks for you help so far. I have the letter from Vauxhall HQ saying that
"I can confirm the noise on your vehicle is a characteristic and causes no detremental effect on the safety of the vehicle."
What they are saying is that if the field remedy does not work it makes it into a characteristic and that we should live with it. The dealer is as much help as an ash tray on a motorbike....lol.
I am trying to get Vauxhall's permission to take the car to a non Vauxhall approved expert to dianose/fix the issue. I do not to void any warranty, (not that it is much use so far) which is what they are telling me. I have two dealerships that have writen the noise is louder than the radio. The car was bought 08/03/2012, we have now insisted that some one from Vauhall HQ comes to look at the car. So far the dealership has had the car for over a week with out any news. Previous to that it has been into a dealership on 7 other occasions all for the same fault, and to try different measurments and checks.
I have always been a fan of Vauxhall until now, my old zafira has done 150,000 miles and still ticking.
Ha makes you laugh really it might not have a detrimental effect on the safety but it sure as hell has one on your sanity, you don't need vauxhalls permission to have anybody else look at the vehicle though."I can confirm the noise on your vehicle is a characteristic and causes no detremental effect on the safety of the vehicle."

It might be worth getting in contact with the likes of Which, citizens advice bureau, honest john or some other consumer groups to help push the issue because as you say its far from acceptable for a new car to make this noise.
Can you post a video of the noise up biker???
