Hi All,

Wonder if you can shed some light on the above for me.

We own (Wife's Car) a 2007 '56 Corsa 1.3 CDTi. One of the last of this shape before the D came out.

The car was brought brand new by my Mum and it was sold to us in February last year with 15,000 miles on the clock (Yes, 15k - it wasn't used that much) and now has just short of 26,000 miles on it.

However, I have started to use it more often of late as I was waiting delivery of my Focus ST. As I drive into my road, I can hear the gearbox whining in 2nd gear as you let off the throttle.

The car has always been serviced yearly and is now due for it's next one, but I cannot find a receipt for a gearbox oil change and my Mum isn't too sure either.

Is it possible the oil just requires a refresh or do I have a bigger problem on my hands?

I know for a fact my mum & dad looked after the car since new and we have too!

Thanks in Advance

Luke

gearbox oil is cheap enough to change it and see to be fair.

My daily is a '56 1.2 Corsa C and I don't seem to remember any gearbox related threads on the corsa forums, the vast majority are petrol though.

I seem to remember a lot of the diesel Astros and vectras of that age have gearbox issues though - maybe the diesel corsa shares the same box
Yeah that was my idea on the next service.

I cannot see any diesel related issues either on the gearboxes. The car is a 5 speed if that helps.
