Hello - There will be Classic 60's sporstcar racing EVERY WEDNESDAY. All welcome.
Please feel free to send me a friends request if you are not in the Forza4 xxPH club.
My GT is "oO John S4x4 Oo"

Cars are sport cars from 1960-1970 with a PI of B495. We already have a good selection of pre-built cars in the PH garage for you to just turn up, choose and race.
You can also download all the B495 tunes from my storefront for free and paint up your own car if you so wish. You can also build a B495 tune to enter as follows :-
No Engine swaps
No Transmission conversion
No Race gearbox
No Aero
Standard or period aftermarket wheels only

There will be a handicap system for those finishing on the podium and quite a few cars will be DLC cars from the DLC packs eg MGB GT.

Some cars, like the Austin Healey, are not classified as sportscars in Forza4, so you won't be able to enter in those. Sorry frown I will also be excluding all American muscle cars, as they should be racing in a TransAm race series. The exception to the rule, will be the Corvettes and Mustangs, which are allowed to race.

There are also CLASSIC 50's races too smile

Any European car between 1950 and 1959, except the Porsche 550. Tunes on the storefront if need be, or build to the above spec.

There are also added RETRO 80's races now. Same build as above, but you can race any car between 1980 and 1991 smile

You can also race in the following 2 cars, as long as they are standard :-
1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV (selectable via changing Player Group)
1984 Ferrari GTO (selectable via changing Player Group)

You can also use the 1991 Ferrari 512TR -- All upgrades available, as long as it is in B Class. Avoid adding rollcages and non period wheels.

I will allow sport boxes and turbo's, but I frown on the use of them.
So you can race with them, but why race with 80's turbo technology when 60's high revving NA sounds so much better ? Having fun with the build and racing is the main thing. If it all get serious, I might just introduce something called "points scoring"

If the Lotus Cortina becomes too quick for these races, then I might also have to request they run on sport tyres, or something like that...we will have to see how it goes.

There is an official slow tune on my store front and yes, it still is just join when you want to. I'll be doing plenty of races through next week.
I would also like to thank all the guys that raced today too. I'll post some pics in the morning. Special mention to Balty

A race round Road America

2 into 1

3 wide

Won't end well

unless you go round the corner 2 by 2

a massive slide on the last corner

means a very close finish for 3rd place

There was some fun in some Toyota 2000gt's

and we tried a Classic 50's race too

There will be some PH Classic 60s and 50s racing tonight at approx 09:30pm. I will send out invites. We will be racing on nearly all real-life race tracks so tune for all of them. Nobody will get reserved spaces. We will be sharing the lobby tonight with other fast and clean racers.
A big thankyou to all who have raced, built cars and supported this idea so far.

Thankyou to everybody who raced last night clap

The lobby started at approx 09:30pm last night and it was full within a minute or two ! So again, thanks for the support and sorry to those who could not get in. I will host some more Classic 60's lobbies tonight and over the weekend and then start again in the New Year, but with a scheduled weekly race night.

I haven't as yet managed to form a race by race report, but I will post a few pics from last night up.

A nice arty type shot. The next 4 pics are the starting grid for the Road America race - looks like a full grid smile

We also tried a 1950's race again round Silverstone

and we also tried out a RETRO 80's race, which I am still setting up and will do a proper anouncement in the near future in a seperate thread.

...arrh, yes, that race hehe

I remember threatening everybody with Full SIM damage for the next race redcard

In that Road America race, I started about 11th, and was last place (16th) before entering the first corner, so did not see the real carnage up front. I ended up 7th at the second corner though. Looking at my replay, I can't understand what CBR was planning to do on the exit of the first corner, as he approached it, especially as he wasn't on the racing line, but the inside and he had cars around and infront of him

CBR JGWRR said:
even I can get round that bend at 80 odd, I was expecting everyone else to be quicker than me...getmecoat
Looking at the replay everybody was quicker than you, up untill the braking point. Sorry hehe

I have come to the conclusion judge that this was a genuine mistake of judgement and that we should actually cut CBR some slack here. I am sure he won't make the mistake again, of hitting the brakes as he is hitting somebody else. Come on guys give him a brake clapbowtie

On a more merry note - Merry Christmas to all my friends who I have raced with and against this year xmas

Some really nice looking cars there Rockin Fatty. I shall be online and will try to get a lobby set up for tonight approx 09:00pm, maybe much earlier.
I am still running a few classic 50`s races in the mix and I am still trying to get a Retro 80`s race together, with the correct balance and settings. Will still need to do some practice races before I would be happy launching a Retro 80`s race night

Hi Tim - Yes, it's still on. In fact, I will start a lobby tonight.
If anybody spots me online in the future and wants me to do some Classic 60's racing then just send me a message and I'll get some racing going.

I'll send out some lobby/club invites tonight
