My dad was doing a bit of late spring cleaning and found a box of old PS1 games. I forgot how many forgotten gems the console had through the years.

What was your favourite forgotten title, excluding the usual list of big names.

I've also got a Hauppage HD PVR but have lost the disc and have had no success in setting it up again so any Wizards about who could help with this, and a decent / cheap gaming monitor that would much appreciated.

Can't believe i forgot about Tenchu, played them to death and even bought the rather suspect PSP versions.

G-Police is another epic call-out. Not liked by many which was surprising considering how epic the game and story was. The sequel was pretty good too.

Started this thread thinking of all he great games i used to love, and still shocked by how many i had forgotten about.

Also technically started this thread out for 'your favourite forgotten title, excluding the usual list of big names', however given thats more down to personal opinion in a lot of cases and i had fecking forgot about most of the popular titles, lets see how nay we can get listed.

As a little side game as well, which game would you most like a sequel / updated version for the PS4. My choice would be either Tenchu or Soul Reaver.

Thanks for that, got caught up in the nostalgia and actually forgot one of the reasons i started the thread.

Rented Vandal Hearts for the PS1 and played it non-stop for about 2 weeks. If this doesn't seem hardcore enough i didn't have a memory card, so each day i had to start a new file, and the intro could be skipped a specific point.

Vagrant Story was epic and so different with its fighting style, weapon customization and puzzle solving. Probably another good call-out for a remake.

[quote=spats]ahh, the start sound was the sound of my teenage years smile

Resident Evil series was such a game changer (excuse the pun)

The remake of this on the Gamecube is well worth a look. A lot of new content and really interesting tweaks. First time i got chased by a red zombie really brought back the terror from the original.

Also decided I'm going to buy a PS2 as they were all backward compatible (larger range of games i can play on it), probably easier to find and not so old.

I believe it featured on the Official Playstation Magazine disc at some point.
Oh god Demo discs, I threw so many of these away, never thought I'd miss them.

Wonder what the going price is on the original PS1 demo disc. Remember the one with the T-rex 3D model.

I miss how the instruction manual would have a guide to all the guns/car in it.
Ahhh the smell of a new untarnished manual, that would always be read by the time you got home.

And the handy notes section to write down the cheats or level passwords.
