I have always loved the original Resident Evil games, the first especially, as this was the first time I ever got scared playing a game.

Now, it seems they have updated it, so I bought it for our PS3 (can be had on PC too). I didn't hold out too much hope that it'd be great, as I got burnt buying Tomb Raider: Anniversary. But, the new RE remaster is absolutely fantastic!

It is like the original, but with much beeter graphics, voice acting (although only marginally better.) and great surround sound.

It takes something special to get me hooked on a game these days, but I was hooked on this for the past few days.

If you like the original games (and not so much the more action-fast paced later games) you will love this - highly recommended.

It's a hd remake of the gamecube remake, hence the inception thread a while back. The gamecube remake was great so I hope you enjoy :-)
Ah, OK, never had a Gamecube, so didn't know. Anyway, I am loving it. It plays different, along with some different puzzles compared to the original PS version.

Managed to buy all my old faves from the online PS store - even the original Silent Hill, which seems to go for silly money money now for the PS original!

Yes, many years ago I bought a Gamecube mainly on the strength of wanting to revisit the Resident Evil catalogue! Many a happy hour spent playing this, RE2 (and 3 IIRC) and the criminally underrated Code Veronica.
I have only recently discovered the PS Store via our (newly reprieved PS3 - re-commissioned it after spent 2 years in the loft for GT6 and added a 1TB HDD to replace the pitiful 40GB original)

I kept our PS2 handy to play the old classics. But I don't need that anymore, I bought and downloaded Resident Evil 1-4, including the excellent Code Veronica and obviously RE HD Remastered, and all of the Tomb Raider games (except Angel of Darkness). I have got the Tomb Raider games on Steam, but on the PS, I like the fact that you can just play them without any hassles about having to set them up properly, mapping keys to joysticks etc - and the all important music in the original is all there and intact.

But the new RE HD game is the biggest surprise, because I never knew about the Gamecube version, it's like a new experience for me, and still damn scary - zombies actually walk, and later run down stairs - wasn't expecting that! yikes
