As this is split across 3 platforms it's a good idea to split the chat.

I've ordered the digital version direct from the PSN with 2 car packs.

Who else?

I will probably get it, just looking for the best place to reserve it to get some decent/rare cars.
Game have a limited edition listed showing you get:

McLaren F1
Sauber C9
BMW M1 Pro Car
Mercedes-AMG C-Class Coupe
1967 Ford Mk IV

Does anyone know of any better ones?

Edit: Just looked on PSN store and it lists these as what comes with the pre order

Ruf CTR3 SMS-R
Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster
Ariel Atom 3 Mugen

I couldn't see any other packs

I'm actually still looking forward to doing PH 'track days' while I learn the handling engine.

Still social but at the same time removing the rush to be first might make it more fun to learn... For a short while wink

I've heard that the big power stuff is a total handful with the aids off, no matter if your using a wheel or the pad.

Sounds great.

Anyone else receive an email receipt from playstation store showing the expected release date being tonight at 11pm? No i know we UK residents shouldnt be getting it until Friday but do you think we'll be able to download it tonight?
Yeah got the same alongside the email saying they had taken the money.

If you go into the playstation store and go to Project Cars there will be a count down timer. It's now showing showing a figure in hours remaining until release... Not days.

The steam version is available from midnight tonight so I'm thinking the 'other' digital versions are too.

Whats the file size for download?
The game is just under 4gb but the application date is 19gb. Can't remember what the update and upgrade files are.

For those of us using controllers I highly recommend using 'mode 2' in the controller settings.

Backs off the sesitivity and makes things a bit more controllable.

I tried a free run in the McLaren P1 at the California highway with no aids at all and the default settings (mode 3).

Total spin crash fest. Way too twitchy.

Switched to controller mode 2 and managed a first attempt of 8m 22s on my first attempt (world record is 8m 4s). Unfortunately due to a slight slip into the grass in one corner my time is invalidated but I saved the replay!

Ps. Bloody love this game already and all I've done is free runs in various cars.

Ok, I knwo this is beatable (I had a 1.08 in the same session invalidated for a stupid single wheel on the grass) but gotta say, it's nice to sit there... If even for only a while...

No driving aids and using a controller set to mode 2

Oh there is loads to come off that time in a faster car for sure. I was using the Zonda as I loved the noise it makes (the gears sound amazing). I could easily knock 2 seconds off my own time in that car. That lap was set on my 4th lap I think?

Do it in time trial though otherwise it doesn't update the leaderboards.

I expect my time to drop through the floor in the next few days once the disc version release happens laugh

Doesn't always make it easier when the aids are off! On a stick you can go from lock to lock in a split second! I have to drive properly!
Nah I'm am jesting you, it's a good lap. Best I can manage with the BAC using a pad is 1.11 and change. It's an evil little thing with no aids on it.

And your wrong about the pad being easier.... You could not be more wrong where this game is concerned.

Go from lock to lock in a split second and you will spin all over the shop in this game. It is totally different from stuff like forza where drifting and sliding are a peice of piss. This game demands very careful and measured inputs on a pad. Move too fast and that's all she wrote.

Even if it was only am for a short while laugh

Might have a go in the car you used now though... Just to find out like... wink

Just a little tweak to the settings for people using controllers, after selecting mode 2, go into the setup and adjust Steering Sensitivity from 20 down to 5 and Throttle Sensitivity from 50 upto 75.

I found it made it easier to control when the back steps out and prevents to horrible lock to lock flick, actually managed some real arse out control
Will try that when I get on later today. Did 30+ laps of brands yesterday in changeable conditions in a P1. Clear and dry through to heavy rain and back several times. Good grief this game is fun... And I think I almost have the measure of that car.

Actually I don't at all.... But I can now put in fast laps without sweating :haha:

Moutainbiker was in the DTM merc, that car is pretty amazing!
