Yep same time. The length of the races the same too, and 1h end race.

I agree that weather/track and cars for every race should be decided before any of the races begin, with a playlist for the series created too.

I only started this to gauge who is interested (maybe you are correct about the PC lot being the vocal minority), I'm not suggesting I should organise it, just wanted to get people's opinions of the details. I think everything should be voted on really so we go with what the majority want. I also think we should rotate the host of each weeks race so the person on pole position changes as another note.

I think, if I am reading correctly people want:

-No teams
-No pit stops
-One class per race with free choice within the class
-Maybe one of the races everyone in the same car, maybe a mid championship all in Schafter race
-Weather -> current
-9:30 sunday start time.

Classes could be:

Super
Sports
Sports Classic
Muscle
Coupe
Sedan (Schafter?)

If people don't have the money to buy a Sports Classic for instance there would be at the very least 2 weeks before this starts so they could easily get a few mates (or randoms) and do some heists to get the money.

I might also suggest maybe these areas for the races, to get maximum variety:

Dockyard - Could be a relatively short lap to use the slowest class, coupes. (Dockyard Autocross is a pretty good medium lap dock race)
City (x2) - Sports/Sedan
Hills - Could be longest lap using Supers. (Maybe 30player version of Nurburgring?)
Grapeseed - Muscle
Maybe something that utilises Paleto Bay area or Sandy Shore - Sports Classic

Oh right I didn't realise that, they feel so slow though for some reason. (or at least the Zion does to me). Sports Classics as slowest then!

Changing car each week doesn't equal simple and makes it a lot harder for the non serious racers to join in.

Just roughly counting from this thread and the GTA V one I have 7 with preferences for more variety of cars and 5 for single car championship. (although admittedly this isn't an exact science and I haven't accounted for people who haven't posted on either thread.)

I don't think it is overcomplicating it if the end result would be a post that details everything so everyone can see what the plan is. Something like:

Week 1 - Class=......, track=......
Week 2 - Class=......, track=......
Week 3 - Car=Schafter, track=......
Week 4 - Class=......, track=......
Week 5 - Class=......, track=......
Week 6 - Class=......, track=......

for instance.

Regarding any potential off road races, the only rule I'd like to put forward is that you have to use 4 (or 6 if you fancy the Dubsta) wheeled off roaders, otherwise everyone would just go for the Sanchez

An off road week would be quite interesting, the track would probably have to be not too trolly for an endurance though, just simple dirt tracks maybe. I agree, no bikes!

Oh dear haha, along the lines of frustration and others I presume? This would certainly be something v. interesting and probably would make a mix up of the points when it happens. Which is a great thing!

I'm with Jobbo - think it would be good to have one car for the entire series but a variety of tracks ie one with lots of corners and hairpins, one with long straights, one long, one short etc etc. that way everyone is on the same level for a 5 weeks series or whatever in terms of car, the winners will be the best ones who adapt to different courses

Right, details of the next championship. Hopefully this at the displeases the least amount of people. That seems the most I can hope for haha.

So hopefully this mixes variety and one car races whilst remaining cheap as the muscles/elegy/schafters are cars that people most probably have or are cheap to obtain and mod. Dockyard Autocross and Nurburgring are races some of you may have played before but I edited slightly to make available for a suitable number of players.

I will be playing this through on wednesday if anyone is up for joining me and will be doing some practices for race 1 after.


PS. The lobby will be open at 9:00 on sundays and race to start exactly at 9:30 as per last championship. If someone can't make a week, they will only lose out on points as there are no teams to keep full, just every man for himself.

It was mainly to keep the cost down as I gathered that was something people were worried about and an Elegy cost 100,000 less to get fully upgraded and purchased. I am happy to make race 2 a Comet though if a few more people were to confirm they have the money or have the car already.

It is what I personally wanted but tried to take on board what I gathered other people wanted, I may well have got that wrong but I tried to please the most.

I will give till the end of today for people to voice any changes they may want to make to classes but I will be only making changes if there is a sizeable amount of people saying they want a certain change as I don't want people to think I will constantly change the race details based on every different opinion.

I will pose these 2 questions as potential changes for people to answer.

-Should race 2 be a Comet?

-Should race 4 be Supers (free choice)?

Basically, if enough people say yes to the above I will change but by the end of today the details will be properly locked in.

And I agree with the above, two muscle races is a bit much. May as well throw in another class if it's free choice.

Just going off cost to get a Comet fully upgraded is $265,550 and Elegy is $165,550 they both cost the same to mod but the Elegy is free, and still the fastest sports car it's just difficult to get the most out of. A Dominator and Schafter can both be found on the road and upgraded for $114,525 if people don't have them already.

Again, I'll see what the consensus is by the end of the day.

I will make the 2 changes proposed but that is my final decision this championship will not change from now, and as Eased says, a full Comet Cup can come next after this series!

Only 1 track is mine, the other two are only tracks that I have edited the starting grids to allow a full grid size. My track I included because I thought it has some interesting corners and two people suggested it not because I am trying to make this all about me. The cars are a result of decisions that I tried to gauge from people and maybe I got them wrong but I will stick to them from now on. If only 5 people end up racing then so be it, I have displeased more people than pleased, but really I just wanted varied racing and fun racing.

(PS. I intend to race, but don't expect to win. As I start on pole as the host I will be dropping to the back every race so I don't have any advantage as the organiser and host. Just if anyone thinks this series is biased towards me, I would have more chance of winning if I didn't organise this.)

Yep, invites will go out at 9:10 and race start at 9:30.

If anyone knows any Pistonheads guys who might not have seen this but would be interested bring them along. The more people in a race the better, as long as they race fairly, even if they can't make every week it doesn't matter too much.

Yes, unfortunately. All the race dates were posted on the last page I think and up to date details and scores will be posted on the very first post of this thread. I think there were a few people who missed last night who will be involved in later races and people who raced tonight who will miss races next week or further down the line, so you shouldn't miss out points-wise too much.

Only just been able to post again, for some reason not been able to for the past few days.

Sundays race results were:

But as only 3 of us ended up turning up I think I might end the championship here. Just got to admit that I probably put more people off playing in the series by my choices or just cause of me organising it so its best for PH continuing GTA racing if it ends, so I am sorry it failed.

Hopefully someone else will organise something that the majority want to join in on, as all I really wanted was good racing with quite alot of people and I would still like to be involved in something like that in the future if it goes ahead.

Maybe I am mistaking people being busy with people not wanting to do these races, I just want to be a part of the best racing possible within the crew and if that is giving this championship up someone putting on a comet cup or something then I'll do that.

I'll see how this Sunday goes though.
