Yes I know there's a sticky on 'which console' but it last had an entry 9 months ago and doesn't seem relevant.

My question is - which console is the one to go for, that is the easiest to use, least issues and feels the most complete?

I have a PS3 and an Xbox 360 now so I'm not bias.

Forza is my favourite game and 6 is out in Sept but keen to not close off other choices.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the responses.

My friends all have a 'Kid'. It's basically a small entertainment unit that's free to get but all the add ons get really expensive, DLC is mandatory and again, very expensive. It crashes a fair bit and needs to be turned off 4 times a day to allow it cool down before rebooting.

Everyone has one and they all say how great it is but say it with a sad, tired face and keep talking about the day they can get rid of it.

So I'm left with playing on my own smile

Thanks for all the responses.

With regards to the friends thing I'm nearing 40 and don't tend to hang at mates playing or have mates that really play much- due to a really busy job and kids I tend to shuffle into the theatre room after wife's gone to bed and play solo games but am getting into online a bit.

It's interesting about the 'stay with the PS3 and 360' comments' as I'm still not done with what I've got - Forza 4 still gets ragged (especially after a naughty hack to give me $400m once I'd done everything) and after the cack that was F5 in tempted to wait and see if F6 is any good part from looking gorgeous.

Would be great if someone released a slowed down FPS where you take your time like real life not the 'rush rush shoot rush shoot everything' FPS that seem to be so common.

With regards to the get a PC comment it's too expensive to get a really really good gaming of and I just want to sit in my recliner in my theatre 4m from a big screen and I'm not sure if a PC is suitable for that. Plug and play ease of just getting in and on with it is key, hence console.

It has been an interesting convo so far and my take outs are:

- no choice is stand out - both have their pros and cons. Xbox One seems to get the nod anecdotally.

- wait and see seems to be a strong theme given an underwhelming choice of games so far.

I had an Amiga. I just thought I'd refer to the technology war we had in the early nineties. smile
I was playing along with you smile

The ST just never caught on like the Amiga unfortunately.

God I long for the days of Cannon Fodder, North and South, SWOS, Lemmings, Test Drive, Indy 500, games in big cardboard boxes, the excitement of original content and something being amazing when it got a 90% review which was actually rare smile
