PH Forza 6 Touring Cars championship
Discussion
I have the beginnings of a car setup and rules for a touring car championship, but after buying a load of cars and upgrading them, the PI and power limits aren't quite there. So I'll put what I've got as an idea for the PH massive to fine tune:
Having the FM5 BTCC as a starting point http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Updated Regs 11/10/15
Race aero (adjustable front/rear, Forza or manufacturer adjustable aero is fine)
Race suspension
Race transmission geared to 160mph maximum top speed
Race tyres
Roll cage
2600lb minimum weight
265 max tyre width
18”, 19" or 20” wheels, lowest ride height and touring car/racing paint job for the looks
Max power 360bhp
Max PI A620
FWD, RWD or AWD
No engine, drive or aspiration conversions
Body styles: Saloons, hatchbacks, estates, hatch or saloon based coupes (no Nissan Silvia, BRZ/GT86 etc)
A few things I've picked up on from building up random cars:
• Mercedes 190E Evo II standard rear wing is adjustable aero, there's no Forza aero for it.
• Alfa 155 rear wings are all adjustable except Mattig, and look like the touring car wings, there's an Alfa adjustable front bumper too.
• VW Scirocco R also has VW adjustable aero
• Not all cars can fit 19" wheels, so thats why it's 18-20”.

The last few I’m not sure on:
Eagle Talon/Mitsubishi Eclipse: Technically they can fit the regs, and they have raced in US race series, but I don’t know much about them, are they saloon based (so ok for this) ?
Civic Type R 1997: I tried building one, its iffy for the 2600lb minimum, has anyone got one to fit the regs?
Honda Prelude Si - Its not saloon based (as far as I know its not Civic or Accord based is it?)
Toyota Celicas - They have been in rallying with Lancia, Mitsubishi and Subaru. In this or out, don't know why but I'm not sure?
Dismissed from the original list because they were rally cars, needed conversions, were RWD Japanese coupes or not saloon based.
Alfa GTV (with conversions)
Lancia Delta Integrale
All Mitsubishi Evo

Updated rules in the original post, taking into account what's been said.
PI is A620
Tyres are max 20" and 265 width now. The Audi TT has 20" standard wheels and the BMW 1M has 265 rear tyres.
I'm fine with saloons, hatchbacks, estates and saloon/hatch based coupes like Corrado, M235i, etc and agree with the point about the Japanese RWD stuff. Not sure on the Celicas.
Alfa, Audi, Honda/Acura, BMW, Ford, Mazda, Mercedes, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota, Vauxhall, VW and Volvo have all been in BTCC
Of the others, Dodge Neon, Scion TC, Eagle Talon/Mitsubishi Eclipse have been in US based series.

Driven a few cars around Catalunya National tonight, as a 3 laps in a car and note the fastest lap to see what's what. No tuning yet, just the upgrades at stock settings, I'll tweak the settings once I'm settled on something, but I know I won't be driving a RWD car, BMWs were way too tail happy for me . And yes the Alfa 155 was slow for me too.
I've got a 2 second difference between the good and bad so far (not counting BMWs). FWD cars have varying amounts of understeer (Astra Tech Line was the worst to get to turn), not decided on FWD or 4WD, so I'll try some more out tomorrow.

The gearing to 160, is that a max/min of 160 or a it has to be geared to 160 to make it a bit fairer?
I've built a good wee EsCos that handles on rails but due to only having 315ish Hp no matter what I do with the gearing I can only ever max at the high 140s low 150s
Looking back at the FM5 rules in the link, its 160mph max top speed. I'll update the OP.I've built a good wee EsCos that handles on rails but due to only having 315ish Hp no matter what I do with the gearing I can only ever max at the high 140s low 150s
I'm finding the same, top speed on the couple of cars im trying (still haven't decided) according to the tune setup I'm putting in is around 150-155. For now I'm setting the gearing for the highest top speed, then lowering the aero to get 160 or as close as I can to it. I'll fiddle later after a few laps to see if more aero or higher speed is better.

Ive hardly been on the xbox for a week, but I have got a half painted Integra and a bunch of friend requests to pick up . One thing I do need to find out is the lobby system in fm6, and lobbies in general, unless anyone else knows how to do the hosting bit?
I still have a half painted Integra. Other things have been happening and I won't be able to sort this myself. So if anyone else knows what they are doing with championships and hosting, go for it and have some fun! Sorry for backing myself out of what I started, but do keep it going.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
