Well it looks like this is coming this Autumn according to the email I've had today.

It seems jets will be coming back ala Battlefield 2 which should be good fun, Should be interesting on a Playstation controller.

For the PC players amongst us, 64 player multiplayer! I assume PS3 will still be stuck with 32 which is a shame. If it's as good as Bad Company I'll be happy! Don't know whether to preorder it or not...

It's been so long since I played BF2 on the PC that I've had to remind myself what it was like on Youtube.

Do you get many hackers on the PC versions nowadays? That's one thing I thought I was fairly immune from on the PS3 versions (Can't say I've come across any on BC2, MW2 is a different story!)

Well I've just received an Alpha code for BF3. No idea which platform as I'm at work, no idea also why I've been invited, however I'm not complaining

Ps I've only ever bought BF2 Bad Company on PS3 and Vietnam expansion pack, and maybe BF2 on PC back in the day...

Well I'm home and it's for the PC However I hope my machine will just about manage it (ATI 5770 / C2D 6600 / 6Gb ) Downloading now.

Incidentally, I may have received an invite due to me buying BF2:Armoured Fury as that's the the only thing that appears in this Origin program

Runs like an absolute dog on my machine. Looks like I'll be waiting for the PS3 version to be released, can't seem to get used to using a keyboard and mouse again!

Has anyone played the alpha with a Ati 5770?

I have a i7-920 (stock), 6GM ram, but think I may have to upgrade my 5770 for battlefield 3.

It runs BC2 fine, but I'm not pre-ordering on origin so i'm not going to be able to check my gfx card before it properly releases.

Any info appreciated

The Alpha ran like an absolute dog on my machine with 6Gb Ram / 5770, but I've only got a C2D E6600 which I think is the main bottle neck for me. I'm going the PS3 route though so not to worried, always felt it's more of a level playing field on a console compared to the PC for gaming. One set of hardware etc etc

EDIT: Anyone seen any decent pre-order deal yet?

I've put 4 hours into this, and so far I'm impressed. I'm crap with the aircraft as it seems no one bothers spotting so when I'm flying I have no idea where I should be shooting!

I haven't run into any trouble with mortars so far either! I may be being stupid, but is there no hardcore mode?

Well annoyed, I've just shot down about 12 helicopters with the AA thing, their team were getting no where, and all of a sudden I'm kicked out and the PS3 crashes!!! Grrrr I'd unlocked the AA missile as well

EDIT: Battlelog reveals I've been credited with the kills, so all is not lost.
