I'm going to the F1 in a couple of weeks and want to hire a better lens to go on my 7d, the options are:

Canon 70-200mm f2.8 L IS II and 1.4x Extender
Canon 28-300MM f3.5-5.6 L IS USM
Canon 70-300mm f4-5.6 L IS USM
Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 EX DG HSM

Which would you go for and (briefly) why?

Cheers

Yeah - the 100-400 was my first choice, as it seems it was for everyone else because I can't find one available.

Where was that shot taken from David, anywhere publicly accessible?

I've gone with the 70-200 in the end, but i'm also having the 1.4 extender so i should get the range. I'm only intending to really shoot on the friday and saturday, i think i'll just sit back and enjoy the race from my grandstand seat without worrying about it on the Sunday.

Skip to 0:14 and pause. That grass area you see in front of the grandstand on the top left of the frame is where I took this photo from, where the vodafone advert boards are.
I get ya, ta - quite convenient as i've got Club grandstand tickets and will be camping at Woodlands which I think is over that way too.
