The rumours are circulating that there's an announcement coming tonight smile

Seems well timed with the Contour announcements today also!

Is there a powersaving mode timelapse shooting yet? It's very annoying that shooting timelapse uses the battery as quickly as shooting video!

What do you all use for tethers?

I'm going on a 6,000 mile roadtrip and may well have occasion to either attach the camera to the car, or other precarious places! I have picked up 3x 1m, 40lb, braided (not steel) fishing leaders and am probably going to use them. Not entirely convinced they're all that strong, but am hoping they will be ok. I will probably go with the approach of looping over the metal bar on the door, and then using a carabiner to attach the other end to something.

My feeling is that a tethered GoPro smashing around on a car at speed would do more than £200 of damage to the car. So I'd rather lose the camera.
True smile
Maybe not for use on the car then, but for use everywhere else.

If you're doing timelapse/video of driving, how do you usually attach the camera? and which settings do you use? This is for motorways too, therefore probably best it's inside.

Thanks

I am currently using a Hero 2 for random filming of stuff on a coast to coast trip of the US. The number of times it's gone wrong so far is frankly shocking. Firstly when shooting long timelapse it will start to generate frames with a green tint. As time goes on the frames with green tint become more frequent. It's other failure is not recording sound with videos occasionally. Obviously it does this at the most inappropriate time, and it's impossible to know until far too late.

The failure rate is not in any way acceptable for me. As a device it's so useful, but i can't begin to describe just how annoying it is to actually make use of. I really want to like it, but i am finding it incredibly frustrating now.
