I am wanting a compact camera for travelling. What would you recommend? It needs to be compact so i can put in my pocket. I really would like a Leica (I know you pay extra for the red badge) as I've always wanted one.

The zoom on the v lux 40 is incredible. It doesn't seem great on the Sony, looking at online specs. Can anyone comment?

Ok, I'm tempted by the Sony. How about shooting big buildings in cities?

Well....

I went into Jessops to look at the Sony RX100 and the Panasonic TZ60. The zoom on the Sony is very poor. and the TZ60was excellent. The salesman did say the TZ60 and the RX100 were good contenders. Should i really buy an RX100 with such a poor zoom.

Well....after lots of thoughts and reviews read I came to the conclusion I really wanted a Leica and a Leica I bought. It the new Leica D Lux Typ 109.

I'm really happy with it. I am still getting used to the camera along with Adobe Lightroom. Here is my Flickr account - I need to go out and take more photographs. Some of the photos are pre-Leica (iPhone) but some are Leica and more will be added soon......
