I think view finder use will very much be phased out as time goes on. Younger generations are so used to just using a screen to compose and take pictures, they will never get used to the idea of having to hold the camera to their face to do the same when there is a nice big screen on the back that can do the same.

I'm only 29 but grew up with film cameras and got into photography using manual film SLRs. I much prefer using a view finder over a screen but I see the benefit and will use a screen when it's suitable, but 95% of my photography is through the viewfinder.
