Record DLSR output to laptop
Discussion
I'd like to make up a DSLR-into-laptop CCTV. What I'm hoping to achieve is decent/good quality CCTV recorded directly into a laptop. The reason for doing this is to make use of good image quality as well as get more use out of existing hardware without buying new stuff.
I was thinking something along the lines of the following: taking the video out/firewire from the camera and streaming it into recording software on the laptop.
So do I need a DSLR with video capability or just a camera which can send whatever the lens sees, directly down the cable?
Can I use my 350D - will it duplicate whatever the lens picks up or does it send individual images to it's video out?
