I have a Sony RX100 MK1 and am wondering if there is a quick way to change between date stamp ON and OFF on the photos when they are taken, rather than having to trudge through all the menu options.

Reason for printing the date stamp on the pics is that I sometimes email a photo of products to customers before shipping, so it's very useful to have the date stamp on the pic, it would be even more useful to be able to put the time stamp on as well but that's not currently available - am waiting for Sony to add this option in the next RX100 MK1 firmware update rolleyes

I tend to forget to switch the option to print the date-stamp off, so end up with a load of photos with the date embedded into the images which looks a bit naff, and only realise when I download them off the SD card and view the images by which time is too late to do anything about it!

Thanks for the info which is appreciated, why do Sony make a dogs dinner of the RX100 menu system and why do they steadfast refuse to improve the firmware to owners of older cameras, this arrogant stance by sONY isn't likely to make me upgrade, it just pisses me off --- are you listening SONY???

Colin RedGriff I don't want to make the changes post production because this changes the file date and time, apart from which I want the date and time embedded at the time the photo was taken. Seems beyond the abilities of Sony for reasons only known to their marketing dept. Nope I'm not going to upgrade to the latest Sony RX100.

GetCarter, why Sony do this is beyond me, perhaps penny pinching or might just be a power thing which is quite surprising when they are in direct competition with the equally arrogant Canon and Nikon.

rst99, thank you, I wasn't aware of MR (memory Recall) settings, will have a go at what you have suggested because it does seem to be quicker than scrolling through all the menu options.

Why there is no toggle On or OFF option for Date and TIME strikes me as being somewhat lazy with the firmware options but then we are of course dealing with Sony which says it all. Is a great camera let down by camera firmware updates that are practically non-existant.
