Canon - Error 01

[Ranger 6]

Had Error 01 come up recently and the camera wouldn't take anything. Swapped the lens and all worked fine.

I take it that the lens is goosed? It's had a hard life - been dropped more that once so I guess it's the end?

It's an 18-135 which I bought with the body instead of an 18-55 kit lens. It's been very worthwhile, what's the opinion on just buying another?

Thanks guys - yes, have tried cleaning the contacts and switching the body off.

I've tried both my 50-250 and daughter's 18-55 and they both work without fault.

I guess it's a new lens then
