Thanks, the charging palaver was puzzling me too - shame they don't support trickle charging when the camera is connected to a PC or some other device.
So, having now had a couple of attempts to go out and take some wildlife photos (a no-brainer around here normally), I have concluded Nikon have added a critter repellent feature as standard - every bird and mammal I have so much as tried to aim a lens at has legged it PDQ. Heard, got close to, then saw a Green Woodpecker... lifted camera, gone. Various Red Kites... same. A sooty squirrel (local darker coated mutation of the grey)... bye
Even the house cat turned her back on me
One of our cats won't let me take photos of him any more. Didn't understand why initially, but it turned out to be the focus assist light spooking him. Doesn't matter if I disable it as he's decided he doesn't want to be a model anyway. So, having now had a couple of attempts to go out and take some wildlife photos (a no-brainer around here normally), I have concluded Nikon have added a critter repellent feature as standard - every bird and mammal I have so much as tried to aim a lens at has legged it PDQ. Try Clifton Cameras in Dursley - I picked up a battery grip for mine from there yesterday of which they had several so might have just had a delivery...
Might even get to try it properly in the next few days
I tried them but like everyone else, they are still trying to clear pre-orders. Might even get to try it properly in the next few days
