Heard, got close to, then saw a Green Woodpecker... lifted camera, gone. Various Red Kites... same. A sooty squirrel (local darker coated mutation of the grey)... bye

Even the house cat turned her back on me

One of our cats won't let me take photos of him any more. Didn't understand why initially, but it turned out to be the focus assist light spooking him. Doesn't matter if I disable it as he's decided he doesn't want to be a model anyway.

My hopes were up just then when I got a call from the camera shop to tell me....

...the accessories are in but the D500 isn't.

Anyone know of any stock anywhere in the UK right now?

Might even get to try it properly in the next few days

I tried them but like everyone else, they are still trying to clear pre-orders.

Thanks to Grays, I now have a D500 in time for a forthcoming trip where I can give it a good test.

So far, it's lived up to expectations.
