Hi all

A question for you knowledgeable types...

My speedo is pretty bad. When used in conjunction with a GPS (which I realise isn't necessarily gospel), it is at least 10mph high at 60-70, although it does go back to zero fine when stationary.

Is there any adjustment in the system at all? My car is an S3 so has the electronic speedo I believe. The car is on standard OZ wheels with 205/60 profile tyres.

Any help would be good, as speed cameras are a constant source of nervousness at the moment...!

Ah, now my mileometer could be rubbish as well, but I haven't realised yet! I have only had the car over about 500 miles so far, so still finding out different facets of its character...!

Is the sender the sensor in the gearbox? If its not too much money, I might change it.

Worryingly, when I had the satnav up I found that it wasn't even consistently wrong. Very occasionally it seemed to read right which means that I'm normally the guy crawling through a 40mph speed camera at a safe 30...!

I don't think I have any light related problems... When funds/time permits I may look at changing the sender I think and see what happens from there.

Is a distinctly dodgy speedo not an mot fail then? I would have thought mine would at best scrape through with a lenient tester...
