S2 Clutch Master Cylinder
Discussion
Morning all,
Noticed this morning my clutch pedal felt soft and on inspection the master cylinder was empty, no fluid on the garage floor and I believe the slave was changed 5 years ago but the master does look to be very old.
The search says Morris Marina and Land Rover.
I have found this one and wondered if it would do the job without having to change unions and pipe etc.

Sorry for typo's but typing on my phone without me specs!

If possible I would prefer a straight swap without the need to change pipe and fittings so as to look after my weak back!

Hi,
The same thing happened to me over two years ago, clutch pedal went straight to the floor, and the fluid level in the master cyl had dropped considerably with no sign of external leakage, either on the floor or in the footwell.
I topped it up & pumped it a few times and it has been fine ever since
I obtained a spare master cyl which looks to be the same as the one in your link,
( Marina / Ital ) which is still stored in my garage for when it does eventually fail.
I'd still like to know where that fluid went

Yes most confusing as my garage floor has no drips of fluid on the floor and below the master cylinder it is dry and also in the footwell where the pushrod connects to the clutch pedal its also dry.
Later this evening I will put her up on ramps and have a good look underneath.
I found this post from scoobimax

Hot day for wearing overalls, decided out of the garage would be a tad cooler, anyways once under the car I pulled back the rubber dust cover on the slave and fluid ran out, can't believe there is nothing on my garage floor! Glad I ordered one a couple of months ago, I believe S2mike supplied the link, all on a bled, quick job.
