I am trying to check the fuel pressure is correct on my S1 and that the warm up regulator is working correctly. I have found lots of references to the pressure needing to be checked, and needing to be within parameters.......but I cannot find what those parameters are supposed to be! Nothing in the Heath 'bible' of the Ford 2.8 manuals I have, lots of info on the web on how to test the K Jet but, so far, I have only found pressures for the Mk1 Golf! I believe there should be three figures (at least), the pressure at the regulator output side when cold, the pressure at the regulator output side when warm, and the residual pressure at some time after the engine has stopped (to check no pressure loss back through the system.
Can anybody (Loach1 perhaps?) fill in the gaps?

Really appreciate that guys, thank you very much indeed. clapI spent a whole evening looking at web articles without finding that info.

I borrowed a fuel pressure measuring kit from a friendly garage and a seal leaked when I used it so I now have to wait for Sykes Picavant for a new seal so I can repair the kit before testing the car! My S is certainly testing my patience at the moment. The seal did however start to leak at approaching 5 bar so it does look as if the initial fuel delivery pressure is OK, which is a good start.

Thanks again, I am stubborn and 'she'is NOT going to beat me! SP have been very helpful and seal is on its way. Should be back in test mode before the weekend!
