Howdy wavey

Several of you have been in touch with me recently to ask if I plan on running a Euro Tour in 2015 and, if yes, if I know when it will be.

Yes, I have been working on a 2015 tour and it's likely to be early September to avoid the school hols and other things I have on earlier in the year.

Sorry that it's taking me a bit longer than normal to finalise things this time. I had a rough route worked out but I'm doing this next year which will be using some of the exact roads/passes I had planned for us to drive up/down.

Rather than visit the same place twice in 2015 I've worked out an approximate driving route in an area I had already earmarked for a future S Club Tour. At the moment I am on the hunt for suitable hotels and will hopefully have the final details very soon.

Because Sept is a long time to wait some of us will also be heading back to the Spa Classic in May driving

Roll on 2015 smile

Cheers,
L'rs

To avoid any confusion, the emails I referred to in my previous post were to the people above who are interested in Spa. I'll start a new topic for the Euro Tour when I have the final info wink

Well if you're going to keep it until then you may as well hang on to it for the main Euro Tour in Sept!

Hi Geoffrey

I'm not sure if you've seen the first pages of these topics but they will give you a good idea of the type of thing we get up to...

2014
2013

I'm still working through the detail for 2015 but phillpot is right - the first night will be in Calais so we WILL be spending at least some of the trip in France. One thing I can say is that I'm planning to use less motorways than we have in the last couple of years - there were some long days to get to/from Germany in 2014 and the Alps in 2013 in the time we had available. I see from your profile you are in Hainaut which is not too far from the route I have in mind for the first day in 2015 wink

Keep an eye on the forum or send me an email through my profile and I'll let you know when everything is arranged.

Cheers,
L'rs

Hi Geoffrey

As mentioned above, this is the first time anyone has asked about bringing a pet on tour!

With such a wide range of possibilities it takes me quite a while to work out where we're going to end up on a tour, how we're going to get there (good roads rather than motorways are preferred!) before I even start looking for hotels. They must of a reasonable standard with enough twin rooms (we usually need more twins than doubles), a restaurant, parking, etc, and on or close to the overall direction we want to be heading. I have already made reservations at 2 of the 4 we'll need next year which means 2 still to find. I might get lucky and have them sorted very quickly this w/end but it might take a couple of weeks of searching the web and exchanging emails.

To add being pet friendly to the list of requirements at this stage will add a layer of complexity I'd rather avoid. Once the hotels are in place I'll check with each of them to see if they allow pets - if they do then you can decide if you want to bring your dog. Hope this is ok for you?

And after what happened in one place this year, the 2015 hotel requirements will include having enough beer for us to have at least 1 drink before dinner...
wink

have we got any dates firmed up for spa or euro tour??? - keen to ensure i book space..
Plan for Spa is stay in Calais 21/5, scenic drive to Spa/Verviers on 22/5, return home 25/5.
Date for Euro Tour is still tbc but will be early Sept. At the moment I'm trying to find the last hotel we'll need and then I will be able to share full details.
