I'm looking fr a new interior light. Something like this but with an on/off switch and ideally lower profile.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for suggestion. The important factor is the depth of recess required. The new light is going to be fitted to the piece of trim which runs round the inside of the rear of the hood (& covers the top of the carpet). I don't want to have to cut a hole in the tub so whatever I go for has to be fairly slim-line.

All suggestions welcome. So ling a s they cost less than £150 laugh

Do you have a picture of the back and maybe measurements? Many thanks.

True, but they're sold now. I've just looked on Ebay for "sun visor light" and there's load to choose from so that was a great tip - thanks.

I went into Halfords during the week and asked "do you have any universal interior lights". To which the reply was "nah, you'll have to go to a main dealer for that" rofl They did in fact have some in the caravan section but far too big.

Just bought this. Yes I know it doesn't have a switch but if I can get it to work I'll buy this.

Hi Greg. Many thanks for the input and feel free to call in for a cuppa if you are in the area. Good luck with the garage house hunting.

An LED strip might be worth considering.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did look at LED strips but I couldn't work out how to fit one into the hood retaining rail and make a neat job of it once it was trimmed. I've also now bought this which I'm hoping doesn't need a deep recess because it has a switch. If I can make this one fit I'll put the little one in the foot-well.

Thant's a neat mod. How did you attach it to the screen? Looking at some examples on Ebay it looks like the clip on the mirror bracket is very similar to the original one (which is Peugeot). How did you hide the wiring?

Solution! This is a Jaguar interior light...

It is 130mm x 35mm. It does sit a bit higher than I wanted but it does have a concealed on/off switch. You just press the right hand section.

I'll now make a moulding to mount it to the vertical face of the hood rail and run the wires underneath this moulding and to the existing loom connection.

I could do with a 3-pin connector for the light if anyone has one but I expect that's a bit unlikely.

Here's a moulding to mount the Jaguar light.......

The plan is to mount this on the vertical face of the roof rail so when it's blended in and trimmed it looks like the light sits in a small bulge in the rail.
