Hi,

I have had the front brake callipers reconditioned for my TVR S2. Although I took lots of pictures before they were removed I now can't tell which carrier goes on which side (with the callipers it is obvious). The carriers look exactly the same, but what is confusing is that they have different markings.

First carrier:
Face that looks towards outside of car is showing: "134" "l" "2"
Face that looks towards inside of car is showing: "199" although this quite faint - might be "189"

Second carrier:
Face that looks towards outside of the car is showing "2088" a diamond symbol and "109"
Face that looks towards inside of the car is showing: "2"

I've checked the callipers and can't see any numbers tieing them to the carriers. Any ideas? Like I say they do look exactly the same bar the markings.

Thanks,

Ralph

Cheers. I'll fit them and see if anything transpires during the fitting, I suspect you are right about the date codes. My other theory is that the marks show which position in the mould the castings came from (I presume ford would cast more than one at a time).
